Its 12:30 pm on January 15th, some miles south of Miami port and the 2006 Ladbrokes Poker Cruise main event is under starters orders. 330 fidgety players whove either paid the $5000 buy-in or qualified online at Ladbrokes sit twiddling their chips, eyeing each other with nervous excitement. Theres over a million dollars up for grabs, and everyone wants their slice of the cake.

Behind drawn curtains on the temporarily converted top floor restaurant of Casino 50 a team of the worlds finest poker players including the likes of Phil Ivey, Chris Jesus Ferguson, Mike The Mouth Matusow, Tony G, Allen Cunningham, and Gus Hansen (among others) were about to take part in a televised cash game with a minimum buy-in of $100,000.
