2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21
The WSOP continues to roll on, and as we get further into proceedings it seems the pro players are beginning to get their teeth stuck into the final tables.

Event #17: Event #17: $1,000 Ladies World Championship No-Limit Hold’em. The ladies only event attracted a huge turnout of 1,286, proving poker is far from a man's game. In the end Sally Boyer beat Anne Heft heads-up to win the $262,077 first prize.

Event #18: $5,000 Limit Hold’em World Championship. The big buy-in of this event meant just 257 players competed for the bracelet. Saro Getzoyan used relentless aggression to come out on top of a final table that included William Thorsson and Thor Hansen among others. He collected $333,379 for finishing first.

Event #19: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em. 1,013 players turned up for this one, which saw Humberto Brenes make his third final table of the WSOP, an incredible acheivement in just 19 events. In the end the bracelet went to Francois Safieddine from Colorado, who beat John Phan heads-up to take the substantial $521,785 first prize.

Event #20: $2,000 Seven Car Stud Hi-Lo. Yet again the non-Hold'em format proved a turn off for the players, and just 340 players paid up to compete in this one. Greg Raymer made his second final table, but Ryan Hughes was the man who left with the bracelet, beating Min Lee to take the $176,358.

Event #21: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em format. The shootout format is an interesting change from the norm; players compete on nine-handed tables with the winner progressing to the next stage where they start again with the same number of chips. Both Erick Lindgren and Daniel Negreanu made the final table but it was Don Baruch and Jared Davis who made the heads-up stage, with Don Baruch eventually taking the $264,107 first prize.

It seems as if the World series hs been going on forever, but we are still less than half way through, and still have the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E tournamnet to look forward to, which last year produced arguably the greatest final table in poker history.
