Tribeca bans US players

The Tribeca Tables poker network, home to 99 online poker rooms including Doyle’s Room, Golden Palace Poker and Victor Chandler, has stopped accepting US poker players, it announced yesterday.

As of yesterday Tribeca will not accept any new US players onto its network, and on February 28th all existing US customers will also be banned.

Tribeca announced in November 2006 that it would stop accepting US players at some point in the future, but did not specify when that might be. That announcement coincided with the takeover of Tribeca by Playtech, the company behind the iPoker network, which counts Titan Poker as its leading poker room.

No date has yet been set for when the iPoker network and the Tribeca Tables network will merge, though yesterday’s announcement regarding US players indicates the merger may be close.
