NETeller founders to appear in court in February
John Lefebvre and Stephen Lawrence, the two founders of NETeller who were arrested last week, have had a preliminary court date set for next month.
They will face the U.S. government’s charge that they laundered billions of dollars in offshore gambling profits.
The two men, who are also former executive directors of NETeller, were released on a $5 million bail but were ordered to remain in New York. They will have their bail terms reviewed later this week.
Both men are facing identical charges of conspiring to promote illegal gambling by helping to process cash transactions from US customers to online gambling companies.
If convicted they could face up to 20 years in jail.
