WPC: Pro’s jam the top of the leaderboard
What a start it has been to the Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio! Almost every preliminary event thus far has seen a final table packed with WSOP and WPT winners, and the $5000 event looks as if it will be no exception.

Going into the final day the chip leaders are all superstar poker players, including (in order of chip counts) WPT winner Joe Tehan, multiple WSOP winner Erik Seidel, 2005 WSOP main-event third place finisher John “Tex” Barch, 2006 Bellagio Cup II main-event winner and Player of the Year contender Shannon Shorr, and WPT and WSOP winner John Gale.

Needless to say there will be another swollen crowd present to watch the action, including Michael Binger no doubt, the 2006 WSOP main-event third place finisher, who will be cheering on his brother Nick, who starts the day in sixth position.

The player with most to gain here is Shannon Shorr, currently lying fifth in the Player of the Year standings and still within reach, just, of the current leader Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi. He heads into the final day in fourth place with $145,000 chips, but is some way behind the chip leader Joe Tehan, who starts with $523,000.
