Police release further details of case against Richard Lee
Some of the mystery surrounding the case against the 2006 WSOP sixth place finisher Richard Lee was cleared up recently when the San Antonio Police Department released the affidavit for a search warrant which contains some of the evidence against him.

The affidavit reveals an undercover officer has been conducting an investigation into Richard Lee’s possible links with an illegal bookmaking scheme since February this year.

Apparently the investigation was triggered when a business card was anonymously faxed to the police with a local phone number on for placing sports bets. The number was that of Richard Lee.

According to reports coming out of San Antonio Lee is known as “The Chinaman” and is thought to be the brains behind one of the biggest illegal Internet gambling operations in the area. The scheme is thought to involve running an Internet gambling site that purports to be based offshore but is actually run from Lee’s home.
