Back to the felt – Legends of Poker approaches
There’s just no rest for the wicked. It seems like only yesterday since the gruelling World Series of Poker came to an end with the momentous victory of Johnny Chan’s protégé Jamie Gold, and yet the next $10,000 buy-in tournament is already upon us.

The Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Club in Los Angeles is usually one of the most diverse and well attended events in the tournament calendar. Already the Los Angeles card club is buzzing with activity as the preliminary events get under way but the real excitement begins on Saturday with the $10,000 WPT main-event.

Among the many established stars who are bound to attend the Legends of Poker keep an eye out for a possible appearance by Jamie Gold. With an extra $12 million in his pocket the Hollywood resident may not be able to resist the convenient proximity of the Bicycle Club and his first opportunity to prove the WSOP was no flash in the pan. Given the streakiness of poker he would probably be well advised to attempt to keep his good run going.

It would come as no surprise at all if this were to be one of the largest fields in WPT history. Despite the WSOP hangover the Legends of Poker always draws a good crowd and WPT attendances have been rising with almost every event. A field of 700 plus is well within the realms of possibility.

After that it is straight off to Atlantic City for the Borgata Poker Open, another popular WPT event. Season 5 is under way!
