WPT announces new host(ess)
The WPT has announced Courtney Friel, Season IV’s replacement for the legendary Shana Hiatt, will not be hosting the upcoming Season V.
Courtney Friel is to be replaced by the actress, model and former Miss Western Massachusetts Sabina Gadecki. Gadecki, who was also 2002’s Miss Polonia is originally from Poland but has spent the last few years working in the New York theatre scene.
Legend has it that Gadecki was plucked from an MTV live audience aged 17 and asked to do some modelling work. The rest, as they say, is history.
As yet we can only speculate as to why Friel will not be continuing in her role as WPT hostess, but it may be because she was never quite able to win over the affections of WPT fans who had grown rather attached to Hiatt.
So far no pictures have been released of her replacement, but according to WPT CEO and founder Steve Lipscomb, Gadecki has “star qualities”.
