Revenue sky rockets for 888
888 Holdings, the company behind 888.com and Pacific Poker, reported its first quarter results for 2006 this week and became the latest in a long line of online gambling companies to report huge revenue increases.

888 announced net gaming revenues were $84 million, up by a staggering 42 percent on the same period last year.

The most impressive showing came from Pacific Poker, for which revenues were up a phenomenal 95 percent on 2005, reaching $39 million.

Despite the lack of legislation covering online gambling in the US, 888 Holdings’ has seen increased activity from that area, although is also actively pursuing markets outside of the US.

“Growth in the U.S. continues, yet we are growing faster out of the U.S., gradually reducing our dependence on the territory in line with the company's long term strategy," 888 said in a statement.
