The Party goes on
PartyGaming is showing no signs of slowing down, according to figures from its recently released first quarter report for 2006.

Group revenue for PartyGaming was up 54% to $342.6 million from the first quarter of 2005, which coincided with a record number of real money sign ups for the period of 263,254 (compared with 214,108 for 2005).

Commenting on the announcement Martin Weingold, finance director of PartyGaming said:

“I am pleased to report we have made a good start to 2006. Blackjack revenue (is) averaging $0.7 million per day, whilst the introduction of PartyCasino.com two months ago, as part of the fully integrated Party-branded platform, has lifted overall net casino revenue to over $1.0 million per day.”

This quarter also saw PartyGaming launch a number of multi-lingual websites, meaning PartyPoker.com is now offered in English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, and Russian. According to Martin Weingold more foreign language versions are due to be launched later in the year.

PartyGaming is also readying the launch of its newest game: backgammon, which is due to be rolled out sometime in the very near future.

Also in the news, PartyGaming’s Richard Segal today stepped down officially from his position as company CEO. He will remain an employee of PartyGaming until the 4th May, helping with the transition of his duties to Mitchell A. Garber, who is, as of today, CEO of PartyGaming.
