“Wild Card Poker” debut in two days
“Wild Card Poker” the brainchild of BoDog founder Calvin Ayre is due to hit the small screen this weekend, with the first of six episodes showing on April 15th on Fox Sports Network.

“Wild Card Poker” is a sort of reality TV/poker tournament hybrid, which follows the ups and downs, both on and off the poker tables, of a mix of online qualifiers, celebrities and professionals as they compete for a $500,000 first prize.

For the filming of the show all 40 players stayed in “The Compound” – Calvin Ayres private residence in the Caribbean, allowing the cameras to catch intimate moments away from the poker tables.

The human aspect of the “Wild Card Poker” is sure to be an interesting change from the current poker television programs on offer at the moment. Unlike most other sports, like football, the habits and personality of poker players away from the game is rarely seen, even by those who follow the game closely; this program promises to address that deficiency.

Of the many interesting characters on view will be: Jennifer Tilly, Phil “The Unabomber” Laak, Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi (and his wife Lily), Humberto Brenes and Erick Lindgren out of the poker players, and the celebs contingent includes Cheryl Hines (Larry David’s fictional wife on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Josh Malina from the “West Wing” and Willie Garson from “Sex in the City”.

The show will feature some of the many extravagant parties thrown by Calvin Ayre to entertain the players, and should afford an intriguing glimpse into the high flying life of a billionaire.
