Victor Ramdin wins WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic
Journeyman poker pro Victor Ramdin won the WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic yesterday, taking home the first prize of $1,331,889.

431 players paid-up to be part of the first tournament to take place in Foxwoods newly opened WPT Poker Room, which proved to be a rollercoaster of a tournament.

The big name players really struggled over the course of the event, with John Juanda in 31st ending as the highest placed recognisable player.

But in the WPT when old stars fail, new stars is born and in Victor Ramdin the WPT has its newest poker star. This was Ramdin’s first WPT final table after a number of attempts, and he wasn’t going to let it go to waste.

With two left Ramdin was heads-up against top internet player Alex “Yahtzem” Jacob and had doubled up in no time, his pocket nines standing firm against Jacob’s AK. Then just two hands later it was all over when Jacob moved all-in with KJ, only to find Ramdin holding AJ.

Jacob received $655,507 for his second place finish, while Ramdin won a free $25,000 entry to the upcoming WPT Championship to go with his million dollar payday.
