WSOP Update: Eric Kesselman wins $2000 Pot-Limit Hold’em Event
It’s one of the bizarre contradictions of pot-limit games that the restriction on bets often seems to create larger pots and bets than in no-limit games. The pot-size cap simply seems to serve as an incentive to bet the maximum amount allowable, and pots increase rapidly until they allow players to go all-in.

WSOP Update: Watkinson captures $10,000 PL Omaha crown
The biggest buy-in event of the WSOP so far drew, unsurprisingly, the smallest crowd. Just 218 players showed up for the start of this event on Sunday, but that still meant a prize pool of over $2 million.

WSOP Update: Lady Luck smiles upon Mary Jones as she wraps up Ladies Title
Event #15, the Ladies Only $1000 NL Hold’em tournament drew by far the biggest crowd in the event’s history. 1128 ladies paid up for their place on the felt, accounting for a bigger field than the 2003 WSOP main-event (won by Moneymaker). How times have changed.

WSOP Update: Allen Cunningham wins fourth bracelet
Event #14 was always going to be exciting. The $1000 with-rebuys NL Hold’em tournament is a chance for the pros to go wild. Two years ago Daniel Negreanu re-bought 27 times and had to finish in eighth place or above just to make a profit – he finished third. This time round the pros were ready again, with tens of thousands of dollars lined up just in case.

2007 WSOP: Events 27 – 29
We have now passed the half way line in the 2007 World Series, and some of the more exciting events are fast approaching, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship and the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, which last year produced one of the highest quality final tables of all time. In the meantime however, there is still plenty of money and jewellery to be won.

2007 WSOP: Events 21 to 26
With 26 events now played the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have been slightly down on last year the Rio is still buzzing with thousands of poker players, and the overall feeling is definitely positive, especially for these lot:

2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21
The WSOP continues to roll on, and as we get further into proceedings it seems the pro players are beginning to get their teeth stuck into the final tables.
