Negreanu labels Frist a “slimy weasel”
Daniel Negreanu, the 2004 Player of the Year, has posted a blog entry on his MySpace web page in which he labels Senator Bill Frist, the architect of the recent anti-gambling bill, a “slimy weasel.”

Statements from poker rooms regarding Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act: where US players can and can't play
The Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act, which passed through Congress on Friday night (see yesterday’s news), has completely changed the landscape of Internet gaming for the foreseeable future. Already PartyPoker.com and 888.com (Pacific Poker) have declared themselves out of the US market, and others have followed. Not all sites are planning on being so well behaved however. Gaming industry in turmoil as US bans online gambling
The online gaming industry is in complete turmoil as it tries to come to terms with the effects of a new US law making it illegal for banks and credit card firms to process online gambling payments from the US.

New US Online Gambling Bill
Congressional Republicans have attached a measure cracking down on Internet gambling to a bill aimed at enhancing port security that passed Saturday 30th 2006. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., and Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., pushed for the gambling provision to be added to the larger bill.

2007 WSOP: Events 27 – 29
We have now passed the half way line in the 2007 World Series, and some of the more exciting events are fast approaching, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship and the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, which last year produced one of the highest quality final tables of all time. In the meantime however, there is still plenty of money and jewellery to be won.

2007 WSOP: Events 21 to 26
With 26 events now played the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have been slightly down on last year the Rio is still buzzing with thousands of poker players, and the overall feeling is definitely positive, especially for these lot:

2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21
The WSOP continues to roll on, and as we get further into proceedings it seems the pro players are beginning to get their teeth stuck into the final tables.
