888 reports rise in annual profits
888 Holdings Plc, the company behind Pacific Poker and 888.com, gave investors a boost yesterday when it reported a 34 percent increase in annual pre-tax profits, despite having pulled out of the US market in October due to the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.  Read more..

J.C. Tran wins WPT player of the year title
Over the last six months J.C. Tran has gone on the kind of run that most pro players will not achieve in a lifetime; a $670,000 win at the World Championship of Online Poker, three six-figure wins in WPT preliminary tournaments, three WPT final tables and a WPT main-event win since October 2006 netted him over $3.6 million, and will go down as one of the great runs in tournament poker history.  Read more..
