WSOP Update: “The Dragon” wins $2000 NL Hold’em Shootout
The $2000 NL Hold’em Shoot-out event is unlike all other events at the World Series of Poker. Instead of playing to accumulate chips over a number of days, players are playing to win their table, in a series of sit-n-go style single table tournaments. Like a world cup, or a tennis tournament, the winners of each table then advance to the next round.

WSOP Update: Event #23 - $3000 Limit Hold’em
Event #23 was possibly one of the quietest events of the 2006 WSOP so far. With just 341 players entered and a relatively low profile field, it seemed the big time pros were having a rest, and the WSOP newcomers that swelled certain fields to over 1500 simply weren’t willing to stump up $3000 for a Limit Hold’em event.

WSOP Update: Second final table for Hellmuth, but still no tenth bracelet
The story of Event #24, the $3000 Omaha Hi/Lo tournament, was once again the story of Phil Hellmuth Jnr’s quest for a record equalling tenth WSOP bracelet. There was of course another story, the story of the winner, but when Phil Hellmuth is involved you can be sure the attention will focused on him.

2007 WSOP: Events 27 – 29
We have now passed the half way line in the 2007 World Series, and some of the more exciting events are fast approaching, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship and the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, which last year produced one of the highest quality final tables of all time. In the meantime however, there is still plenty of money and jewellery to be won.

2007 WSOP: Events 21 to 26
With 26 events now played the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have been slightly down on last year the Rio is still buzzing with thousands of poker players, and the overall feeling is definitely positive, especially for these lot:

2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21
The WSOP continues to roll on, and as we get further into proceedings it seems the pro players are beginning to get their teeth stuck into the final tables.
