Brandon Cantu wins WSOP Event #2 - $1500 NL Hold’em
The second largest field in poker history assembled on Day One of the 2006 WSOP to play in Event #2 – the $1500 No-Limit Hold’em freezeout. Yesterday Brandon Cantu emerged victorious, and $757,839 richer.

“The Charitable Ambassador” wins 2006 WSOP Tournament of Champions (TOC)
Mike Sexton, known to many as the ambassador of poker for the tireless work he does promoting the sport, and for his role as host of the WPT, proved on Day One of the WSOP that he is still as great playing the game as commentating on it when he won the 2006 WSOP TOC.

Party Poker founder to speak at World Poker Congress
Vikrant Bhargava, one of the founders of the world’s biggest online poker room, PartyPoker.com, has been signed up to speak at the World Poker Congress, taking lace in Sweden on June 27th-28th.

California plumber wins WSOPC event
A 32-year-old plumber from California won the World Series of Poker Circuit event in Lake Tahoe yesterday, beating a host of WSOP Champions and established poker pros in the process.

Live poker on TV as FSN airs Full Tilt Showdown
Fox Sports Network, home of the immensely popular FSN High Stakes Poker show, is to air a live poker game this Thursday (6pm EST) as seven poker pros battle it out for a $1 million prize.

2007 WSOP: Events 27 – 29
We have now passed the half way line in the 2007 World Series, and some of the more exciting events are fast approaching, such as the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship and the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship, which last year produced one of the highest quality final tables of all time. In the meantime however, there is still plenty of money and jewellery to be won.

2007 WSOP: Events 21 to 26
With 26 events now played the 2007 WSOP is almost at the half way stage. Although numbers have been slightly down on last year the Rio is still buzzing with thousands of poker players, and the overall feeling is definitely positive, especially for these lot:

2007 WSOP: Events #17 - #21
The WSOP continues to roll on, and as we get further into proceedings it seems the pro players are beginning to get their teeth stuck into the final tables.
